England ' Dear Mr. Sevan: When you were here you raised the question as to whether there might not be a certain hazard in the continuous decarbonizing of motors used in the London buses. After looking into this question as well as I can, I am convinced that there is a serious hazard involved and that if and when lead is to be used in the buses, the decarbonizing of the motors should be done by a wet method. Presumably, the use of 611 well poured on or sprayed should be an entirely satisfactory protection, and I should urge the advisability of carry ing out the work with such precautions. I ara sorry I did not have an opportunity to see you and talk with you more at length, and I am very sorry that our visit together was much more of a busines affair than a pleasant social contact.
