In 8" and larger sizes, stems are double sealed in the liner by a floating metal retained "0" ring. Bearing* at both stem ends are of Teflon-fiber glass for longer life. They have full length and diameter and pro vide reduced torque. May, 1962 Liner* are made of Buna-N. Their thick ness at the sealing point is far greater than required by AWWA specifications (125-16). Result? Extra resiliency, better sealing, longer life and lower torque. The bedgroove under the seat prevents seat shifting, wear and insures higher bubble tightness. Operators are easily attached by four widely spaced and readily accessible bolts. The XP (extra-power) manual and cylinder operators provide 22% addi tional torque output at the critical seat ing point (with negligible loss in the seldom critical 45 to 80` region). Out board bearings on all operators eliminate damaging side thrust on the valve stems. These valves are rated for 200 psi at 200F when valve liner fully contacts flange face and pipe end.
