Williams project: 001 In your memo of June 5, 1969 on Dow VCM, you report that two tank cars of Dow VCM gave bottle polymerization conversions of 69-70% after 7.5 hours versus 65-66% for Flemington monomer. This was considered an 8% increase in polymerization kinetics. We should probably consider the fact that we are comparing kinetics at a relatively steep portion of the kinetic curve. Therefore, we may show significant difference in actual percent conversion, but does this necessarily mean that there would be a significant (8%) difference in total polymerization time in the plant at a normal 80-90% conversion?
