Our members will be attending the USMEF conference which starts at 2pm that day. We'll need to be in Crystal City promptly at 2pm so any time prior on Wednesday, May 24 would be great. Many thanks, Ryan From: Hupp, Sydney [mailto:hupp.sydney@epa.gov] Sent: Monday, May 8, 2017 12:39 PM To: Ryan Flickner <flicknerr@kfb.org> Cc: Dickerson, Aaron <dickerson.aaron@epa.gov> Subject: RE: Kansas Farm Bureau request to discuss Flint Hills range burning with Administrator Pruitt or staff Good afternoon Ryan, I would be happy to help get this set up! Is morning the only time you have available that day? Would afternoon be doable? Thank you! Sydney Hupp 17cv1906 Sierra Club v. EPA ED_001523B_00003932-00001 Executive Scheduler Office of the Adminsitrator 202.816.1659 (c) From: Ryan Flickner [mailto:flicknerr@kfb.org] Sent: Tuesday, May 2, 2017 11:41 AM To: Hupp, Sydney <hupp.sydney@epa.gov> Cc: Jackson, Ryan <jackson;ryan@epa.gov> Subject: Kansas Farm Bureau request to discuss Flint Hills range burning with Administrator Pruitt or staff Sydney, Kansas Farm Bureau would like to discuss the Clean Air Act, specifically Flint Hills (Kansas) range burning, with Administrator Pruitt. There will be a group of approximately six Kansas Farm Bureau members in Washington, DC on the morning of Wednesday, May 24 where we would be able to visit. Our main concern is the challenge of needing a prescribed fire to maintain the natural ecosystem of the Flint Hills in Kansas and the Osage Hills in Oklahoma and how smoke from these necessary fires impact the ozone and PM2.5 standards. Exceedances or violations of a national ambient air quality standard directly related to prescribed fires in the Flint Hills and Osage Hills is becoming a challenge to manage. In 2011, Sens. Inhofe and Moran introduce a bill addressing this issue: https://www.moran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases9 lD=dc891dd7-ad7c-4d8f-83f7aa7c4b644b3f So far this year the media has written a number of stories: http://cjonline.com/news/state-govemment/local/2017-04-18/buming-questions-traditioneconomics-cloud-debate-prairie http:,7ioimialstar.com/news/local/article 420984a8-e0a3-546e-a36d-7333898b551f/ 17cv1906 Sierra Club v.
