Dr Pigott and ICI's Information Group gave a listing of 340 references many of which we thought too marginal to be of interest. With Dr Pigott I have pruned this down to the attached list of 37 published papers directly concerned with PVC but also including relevant review papers on tissue culture reactions to plastics, dermatitis from polymers and additives, systemic effect of leachables. We have collected all but 9,13,14 and 25 and I have photos of these papers in one file if you should require copies. Paper 25 is being translated; papers 9,13 and 14 should be on file shortly. If you consider that there are significant omissions please let me know and I will add your references - I would prefer it if you would send the papersJ The French works medical officers have a paper in the press about the pneumoconiosis case described by Arnaud. From our own laboratory we have several papers in the publication pipeline and will add them as they com out. Regrettably we also have one paper by Burrows et al which has not been accepted for publication and this presumably goes into limbo. Perhaps we will be able to retrieve this situation somewhat after the Institute of Occupational Medicine completes its study of a sample of our Hillhous Factory population. Dr Torkelson did also suggest that we include unpublished work and work in progress. This is more difficult. We have of course the NIOSH Chronic Inhalation Toxicology Study by Dr Kommineni which was notified in Tox-Tips last June and the DHEW memoranda of May 5 & 10, 1977 for rats and guinea pigs and September 6, 1978 for monkeys which I have already circulated widely. We have Waxweiler's thesis and paper to the September 1978 Medical Congress in Dubrovnik. There are the Italian epidemiological surveys and more recently a paper by Mapp et al (Med Lav Vol 69 1978 p 151-162) which has been translated and circulated - this should now really go on our list. Dr W G F Adams will visit Prof Mapp et al in Padua in March to discuss this paper. Any help you can give in updating nd completing this portfolio would be appreciated.
