Chadwick DAC-178-86 Hazard Communication Standard Review Sheet The Hazard Communication Standard is an OSHA (Occupation Safety and Health Administration) Standard that says that employees have the right to know about the hazards of the chemicals in their workareas and methods they may use to protect themselves against the hazards. The Standard sets the framework for assuring that employees are informed through requirements for container labeling, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), and training. FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD data including information on how easily the material will burn, if the material will explode, and if special procedures must be used to fight a fire involving the material Section on the REACTIVITY of the material with air, water, and other chemicals and if certain conditions must be avoided such as high temperatures that may cause the material to explode. How to properly DISPOSE of the material to comply with federal and state requirements. Area copies are in the MAINTENANCE OFFICE, SHIFT SUPERVISOR'S OFFICE, UNIT CONTROL ROOMS, and ARTHER BROS. SAFETY SUPERVISOR. Knowing the Hazards of the Chemicals in Your Workarea Employees should be aware of the HAZARDS of the chemicals in their workareas and METHODS TO PROTECT themselves against the hazard.
