Forrestal - DFORR Sam Pickard has seen the C&E News editorial and he and I agreed by telephone Monday (May 10) that It should not be entered in the Congressional Record. His reason was it may become another opening for a Ryan, or some other congressman, to initiate legislation to "further police Monsanto's actions." He feels he is developing good working relationships with the EPA, and wants to avoid another politically motivated action. I agreed with him on the above grounds, plus my own personal opinion that the Congressional Record is not the most prestigious of publications. Item 1 may still be worthwhile if we could get the editorial into the hands of selected editorial writers with perhaps a personal note from you. E. V.
