From: Tarnowski, David To: Haas, Paul Cc: Karam, Douglas; Parvana, Sharon Subject: Chrysler Product Labeling Date: Friday, July 22, 1994 2:54PM Priority: High We received an inquiry from Chrysler regarding JA rear brake asbestos linings being produced at Cleveland, sent to Varga for assembly on brakes, then to Precision Modular Assembly/Monroe for wheel sub-assembly, with final shipment to Chrysler. The Precision people were concerned about asbestos exposure in their plant from brakes shipped from Varga. The Precision people have been provided with exposure monitoring data for similar assembly operations at Kelsey-Hayes, which showed minimum exposure. They seemed satisfied with that information, but an issue was raised regarding asbestos warning labels on shipping containers. Can you check with Cleveland as to what type of labeling is included on our product shipments and followup with Sharon (313-362-7057) on Monday with that info and any other issues?
