Industrial Fellowship No. 59-9 3 copies made: 1 - Mellon Institute 2- Industrial Hygiene file In protection of the interests of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in the case of the exploded phosgene cylinder, a conference has been held with Captain Munn of the Pittsburgh Office of the Chemical Warfare Service. The manufacturer of the phosgene has denied all liability for the explosion. The attention of Captain Munn vas directed to the I.C.C. regulations on the maximum allowable load for phosgene cylinders, 150 pounds. Records furnished to the Pittsburgh Plate' Glass Company by the manufacturer show that the explosed cylinder contained 156 pounds. The weight recorded by Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company was 166 pounds. Conferences have bean held with Dr. Kutscher, Dr. Weidlein, Mr. Mitchell end Dr. Hill on the toxicity of perthiocyanic acid. The report on the survey of the Anaconda ?/ire and Cable Company plant is being prepared. The abstracts for the February Industrial Hygiene Digest are being collected. The Scaife Company corrosion problem is nearing completion. ' A spot survey has been made for the Jones & Laughlin Steel Company.
