On Wednesday 12/29 there will be a special meeting
of the AIA/NA Board of Directors. The meeting will
be held in New York City at Johns-Manville Sales
Offices on the 11th floor, starting at 11:00 A.M.,
to discuss the recently published F.E.P.A. proposed
Emergency Standards on Asbestos, E.O.S. & H.A. (OSHA)
standards of 5 fibers per ML, announced by the Department of
Labor in the Federal Register on 12/7, and mailed that
day.
In order that the Committee will have an opportunity
to study all member company views and opinions on the
Standards prior to the meeting^ we would like to
receive in writing, no later than 12/21 your comments
on both the EPA h OSHA Standards.
Subjects that should be considered :
1) Can you Company live with the Standards as published.

2) How great an economic burden will they place on
your operation.

3) Which section of the Standards do you consider the most damaging.
4) How do you suggest they be changed.
\
5) Do you believe the AIA/NA should oppose or appeal the SOHA Standards - on what grounds.
6) Besides the Standards themselves we shall also discuss at the 12/29 meeting the nature of the Industry response to the EPA Standards.
