The Honorable Scott Pruitt Administrator U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W. Washington, DC 20460
Dear Administrator Pruitt,
On behalf of the Aluminum Association, I would like to invite you to be a key note speaker at our 2017 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., October 2-4th at the Loews Madison hotel (15th and M St. NW). Specifically we wonder if you are available to speak at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4.
The Aluminum Association represents the United States aluminum value chain - from primary producers, to recyclers, to fabricators, and their suppliers - as well as the vast majority of U.S. aluminum production and 161,000 direct U.S. aluminum jobs at facilities in 35 states. Aluminum is a key element of the nation's manufacturing

base, supporting 713,000 total jobs, and $186 billion in economic output - approximately 1% of GDP. Our industry is seeing historic domestic demand for aluminum-- particularly in the transportation sector, and investing in manufacturing jobs to meet the demand.
Your unique perspective on the Administration's approach to strategic policies that both ensure environmental protection and promote economic growth will provide great insight to our industry leadership. At our meeting, we anticipate an audience of approximately 125 senior executives of the aluminum industry.
In addition, in the months leading up to the Annual Meeting in October, we respectfully request a meeting with you so that we may bring in some of our industry leaders to discuss the industry, and how we can work together on policy priorities of mutual interest. For instance, we share your priorities for economic growth and environmental regulatory reform and have an interest in the automotive emissions regulations under review.
We would be honored if you would consider our invitation to speak. Please let me know if you would be willing to consider this invitation. If so, we can discuss logistics and other particulars with your team and identify a date for an industry leadership briefing in advance. Again, thank you for your consideration.
Kind Regards,
Heidi Brock
