F. Boyer called this morning and discussed with me your letter of February 15 to Mr. N. J. Rudy. In this letter you indicated the desirability of obtention of further information concerning the CNRS patent situation as regards the production of graft polymers by mutual irradiation. As was pointed out to you by Dr. Boyer and others, this patent has not yet issued but is expected to issue prior to April 1, 1966. Attached to this letter is a copy of the patent application Serial No. 553, 157 and the claims (22, 2-12 inclusive, 17 and 23) which have been indicated to us by CNRS as having been allowed on appeal in the indicated U.S. patent application. It is our understanding from CNRS that this will constitute the substance of the patent to be issued in the United States. This information is being furnished to you at the request of Dr. Boyer, who feels that it will be helpful in your presentation of the subject matter to your management.
