S. 80 West Greenwood, Louisiana' 71033 Dear Mr. Stokes: This is to confirm the agreement reached yesterday afternoon between your union, its Local No. 4-202, and Pittsburgh Corning Corporation, to ex tend the present collective bargaining agreement covering employees at Plant No. 7 in Owentown, Texas which was originally to terminate September 30, 1971, to November 13, 1971. As we advised you and the union negotiating committee, the company is now considering whether it should continue to produce UNIBESTOS, and that a possible result of a decision not to continue could be the closing of Plant No. 7. We would appreciate any recommendations, which either the International or Local Union might have, which we should consider in making this decision and suggest that these should be received by us no later than October 20, 1971. We will promptly advise you when a decision has been reached on this im portant question. We also wish to confirm our agreement that Article 9, Section 17, shall be deleted from the Agreement, effective immediately. I have enclosed copies of the memorandum of agreement that you and I have discussed for your signature. Please sign all copies and forward them to Mr. van Horn for his signature and Mr. Yandle's; indicate to Mr. van Horne how many signed copies you wish returned to you for your files.
