We realize full well that you, as the authority on:lead toxicity, must be certain In your findings before you can take a position for or against a change In lead alkyl. Our suggestion regarding the use of overtime was based on the interpretation of remarks previously made which led us to believe that vacations rather than laboratory facility limitations 'were causing delays. In our laboratory we generally find that people are anxious to work overtime if appropriately compensated v.Then the work load exceeds that which can be conveniently taken care of by the available personnel during normal working hours. We have reviewed, in this office, the report of June IS, "Summary of Preliminary Toxicologic Investigation of the Lead Alkyls" and the tabulated results on Phase 1 of the test at Yellow Cab. Our review, however, has been more of a cursory than a detailed nature, and we will have it subjected to a more care ful study by our specialists. Again may I assure you that our desire to reach an early conclusion relative to the possibility of obtaining the Surgeon General's approval for the use of X-105A explains completely our desire to have the work expedited.
