Through participation in the social and recreational activities, avai lable at the resort type hotel, the nambers become better acquainted. IMMITES CF Tig PREVIOUS MEETING The members were advised that the minutes of the previous meeting held June 15ih and 16th 1966, had been distributed. Upon foot ion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, it was RESOLCD: That the minutes of the meeting Held on June 15th and 16th 1966 be accepted as distributed. REPORT Of THf PFESIEEtfT it is very difficult for the President to mk* a report to the membership because most of the work is done by the committee chairmen and the book work by the Secretary and her staff. I would like to thank our coemitiees for the work that has been done * the treasurer's report and the budget by Mr. Hodson, the fee formula headed by Mr. Cenwsy, the membership and public relations under Mr. Kelly, and Mr. McGovern who has headed the nonnesting committee. Joe Greenen, ;*ho is not with us today, has done a wonderful service in the selection of this location and making the arrange ments, i would like to pay special tribute to the two committees which are the back bone of this organization. The first is data book and technical committee which -will present to you today an extremely interesting report. As the raport unfolds, you will be aware of the thought as well as the work involved and pertorftd under the able direction of Ur. Uoall i, The other important eonmittee is the brake performance study committee, under the chairmanship of Mr. Me)sen. This committee has had to deal with Institute affairs occasioned by state activity on safety legislation. A great deal of work is involved especially in the preparations for the various areas of the country. Mr. Mel son has Had to make the Institute's name known and secured recognition for us. This committee deserves special commendation for the work which it has done -and is continuing to do. The office staff has also done outstanding work, for the twelve months ended May 3lst, approximately 2300 blue prints were forwarded, 1500 telephone and tele- graphic requests were handled, approx in*tel y 2200 pieces of correspondence answered as well as the recording and publishing of fifteen sets of minutes for the various ccamittee meetings and special Board sessions. Twenty-five general bulletins were released and twenty-nine memorandum* of all types, fourteen specifications bulle tins, with a total of 50 pages, were sent to the members. 1,965 copies of each date bulletin and 1,085 copies of each shoe bulletin are mimeographed, collated and mailed by the office. 7c Mi$$ Duschek and her staff, we extend a vote of thanks.
