Hi Judy, Joanne, and Dave:
Just a heads up -- I'm hearing Dep Sec Bernhardt and Joe Balash are planning a visit to Alaska the week of Mar 5. They want to visit Barrow and Kaktovik, but will also spend time in Anchorage and possibly Fairbanks. I will be in town, so I'll be able to handle whatever briefings or meetings are needed.
I've also heard Susan Combs is visiting the week of Feb 27. Steve Wackowski says she is running the reorganization effort in the Department, and she wants to visit each of the Bureaus for a 101 briefing. I will be in Reston that week, but I can be back in the office on Friday, Mar 2 to handle this (assuming it fits her schedule).
Regards, Aimee

Aimee,
Thanks for the heads-up. Looping in Bill W for his awareness since he and I (and Tim Petty) received a possibly related request this afternoon from the Dep Sec's office to provide a briefing for the Dep Sec on Feb. 21 at 3pm about "ongoing studies in Alaska".
Judy is trying to learn more about what specifically is being requested, so we can craft a game plan that goes beyond what I presented to the Dep Sec last Thursday.
Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave,
As we know, ongoing studies in Alaska is a much bigger topic than ongoing studies in ANWR. It'll be important to know what the Dept is looking for. Thanks in advance to Judy for helping to refine/clarify this request.
Let me know how I can help. Aimee
