This book is intended to serve the needs of engineers and scientists and will also be used as a primer to introduce engineering students to the many uses of lead for corrosion resistance. The handbook treats lead as the key component of a set of composite materials called The Plumbum Series. Since lead is most frequently used in combination with other materials for engineering purposes, this approach is felt to supply the required information in the most readily usable form. The middle section of the book provides research and development scientists with a large compilation of corrosion data, which is nearly all based on ILZRO research. The last section has guidelines for the design and construction of lead-based equipment. Forty-five hundred copies of the handbook have been sent to techni cal personnel who have expressed an interest in obtaining full information on this subject.
