Jim Hawthorne and I represented the Tech Center. i Uniform job coding for all locations was discussed. In general, the HRIS codes will be used for salaried personnel and EEO codes will be used for i hourly personnel. Temporary and contract personnel will not be tracked. Jerry Wyman, of Charlotte, is coordinating changes in the HRIS and EEO coding systems. Changes will be necessary to accommodate health monitoring purposes. A revised code dictionary will be issued December 16. We need to send Jerry Wyman the 1200 codes needed for the Tech Center. We need distinct codes for distinct job functions. For example, laboratory chemists should be distinguished from pilot plant engineers. By this letter I am asking E. S. Ramey to present a proposed set of codes by December 16. Existing codes should be used where possible, but unused codes in the range 1200-1299 may be added. Job codes will be changed in the Charlotte computer through use of the 1084 (salaried) or status change (hourly). New 1084 forms will be designed, but the Tech Center will need to change our own status change forms. We will need to input job code changes to our Tech Center program as well.
