PRIMARY SKIN IRRITATION AND SENSITIZATION TESTS ON GUINEA PIGS
Procedure: The test for primary irritation was-conducted by applying, and lightly rubbing in, I dro 60% and 6% solution (vol/vol) of the test material 'n 0.9^ saline on the shaved intact shoulder skin guinea pigs. To test for the sensi+izatlon potential, a series' of four sacral in+radermal injection week over a three-week period, which consisted of O.I ml of a \% solution (vol/vol) of test material Following a two-week rest period, the test animals were challenged for sensi+lza+lon by applying, an I drop (=0.05 ml) of a 60% and 6% solution (vol/vol) of test material in 0.951 saline on the shaved i A group of 10 previously unexposed guinea pigs received similar applications at the time of challeng comparison of the challenge reactions on skin of similar age.
