Pappas SS-14 ED 0-4 0-10A The 1st Quarter Safety & Housekeeping Inspection for Dept. 513 was conducted on April 17, 1984 by the inspection team of Ed Dowden, Paul Saunders and Bob Hammann. Overall, the department was found to be outstanding. Although not many chemicals are found in this area, the inspection team would recommend that a list of these chemicals with safety precautions to be taken in handling them be posted inside or outside the control room door. The following specific items were noted: Safety 1. Safety shower and eyebath valve handle needs to be replaced - MRO has been written. 2. Fire extinguisher door on the north end of the control room needs to be repaired. 3. Five-minute escape mask by south door is low. 4. Tag needed on water station on clarifier. 5. Breaker room in ammonia storage area - breakers need to be labeled better. 6. Stairway to top of the ammonia sphere - lights and breathing air boxes are fastened directly to the handrail. These need to be moved as they interfere with personnel climbing the stairs. 7. Several weeks in January missing on one safety check sheet. Housekeeping 1. Need to get construction maintenance to clean up in their building. 2. Overall housekeeping in control room, offices and all areas was excellent.
