We want those of you who vere not present to knew what transpired and what the feelings of those present vere before proceeding any fur o ther with the suggestions made at that time. We would jertlcularly like your views about asking the Board of Directors to authorire the establish ment of a secondary lead producers ccmtttee vlthln the Association, and any suggestions as to areas of Association activity that would be beneficial to this branch of the industry. Present Representing Max Adler Allied Smelting Corp. Julian Bers Bers & Co., Inc. Tccn Bose Bers & Co., Inc. Cecil Bassert Dixie Lead Co. Borcina, Secretary The Executive Vice President stated that this group va* neeting at the suggestion of several members to determine how and in what areas the Association could beat serve the Interests of the secondary lead producing centers. Air Pollution Regulation The group felt that a major problem was the lack of uniformity In air pollution regulations. It was agreed that if the Association could aid in the acceptance of uniform regulations that would be acceptable to local regulatory bodies it would be highly beneficial to the industry. Disposal of Battery Boxes Another problen area is the disposal of battery boxes. The dis cussion centered on present disposal methods which are costly in most areas of the country. It was suggested that perhaps a research effort to determine possible vises for old battery boxes ccaild be initiated. Formation of Ccmalttee or Division After some discussion the group requested the Executive Vice Presi dent to investigate the possibilities of forming a permanent committee or Division of the Association representative of secondary lead producers. It was suggested and the group approved the electloa of Mr. Virgil Murph as pro ten chairman subject to the approval by the Board of the Committee and the Chairman.
