WHO CITY, CALIFORNIA 93930 June 24, 1971 Orig/mmmg o*x. cw * i Following is a brief description of our several dust collecting systems: KG 244 CIRCUIT Off-gas from the 310-16 Koto-Louvre Dryer i6 drawn thru a Model 520824 (51" diameter by 146" overall height) Salina Helical-Top Cyclone. CoBt was $485 in 1967 for the cyclone only-probably was $1,000 for installed cost, including small rotary valve on discharge from bottom. Rated capacity i6 1800-4500 SCFM. No visible emissions unless rotary discharge valve becomes plugged. Collected dust feeds into product grinding and bagging circuit. Grinding and bagging room dust is collected in a Mikro-Pulsaire Model 1-C-l bag type dust collector, single compartment, 72 bags 510 square feet of filter area. Collected dust is discharged thru rotary valve into product bagging machine. This was a surplus unit from another UCC plant. Estimated $4,000 to duplicate this as now Installed. No visible escape of dust unless malfunction such as torn bag, plugged discharge, etc. Mill* CIRCUIT Off-gas from the 1005-36 Koto-Louvre Dryer is drawn thru two Link Belt #19 type LS cyclones designed to handle.32,000 C.F.M. Collected dust drops thru rotary valves into a Redler conveyor and thence to product packaging. Estimated installed cost $10,000. No visible dust Into atmosphere unless one or both of the cyclones plug up. Pol Grinding and bagging room dust is collected in a Migyo-Lueaire- Model l-C-3, three compartment, 216 bags, 1,530 square feet of filter area. Collected dust is discharged thru rotary valves into a Redler conveyor and thence to recycle thru the wet circuit of the mill. This, too, was a surplus unit-I'd wildly guess at $12,000 for the value of our installation. There is no visible dust in the exhaust from this collector.
