I wanted to let you know that in May of 2015 that the US Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRC) announced in the Federal Register that it was considering the replacement of the linear no threshold (LNT) model for cancer risk assessment with the hormesis model. This truly shocked me, as I could not believe it would happen in the Obama administration or in my lifetime. The NRC received many comments and has remained quiet on this issue, with no decision rendered. However, I think that it is important that you are aware of this situation since other than climate change debates the need to replace LNT is the next most critical policy issue facing the EPA. The science is clearly supportive of such a move; the issue is political judgment and courage. Sincerely, Ed Calabrese 17cv1906 Sierra Club v. EPA ED_001523_00000849-00001
