I asked Mr 0 Schulze for a semi-"quantitative estimate; he said, of the order of 107o - 20%, on a particle count basis (not a weight percent: basis) . If Dr. Kolbye agrees, we would like to retain the sample, for inclusion in the. series of X-ray diffraction analyses for asbestos. Kolbye, Deputy Director Bureau of Foods (BF-2) The finding by Mr Schulze by microscopy, that Avon Tai Winds Spray Talc contains tremolite asbestos in amounts of the order of 10%, has been confirmed by Professor S, Z, Lenin of New York University, using the X-ray diffraction technique Mr. Schulze* s results were reported by me in a memorandum to Dr Schaffner dated February 29, 1972 A copy of this memorandum and Mr Schulzers work sheet is attached.
