The m ean lead levels for com par able location s w er e as expected, in t er m ediat e betw een th ose obtain ed in Fe b r u a r y and th ose obtain ed in August. Th ese r e su lt s a r e probably r elat ed to the frequ en cy of favorable wind direction s (w esterly) and the extent of atm osph eric turbulen ce.
