I don't believe we have made any recommendations other than what was in the original report that went to Congress (via DOI) in 1991 I believe. I cannot access a copy of it right now due to network connections! Thanks... Ruth. Also if there has been any recommendations to Congress for any action on them. Let me know if that's possible. As part of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2015, Congress released the Zook Creek WSA in Rosebud County (8,438 acres) and the Buffalo Creek WSA in Powder River County (5,650 acres) from being managed as WSAs. They are now being managed in accordance with our Miles City Field Office Resource Approved Resource Management Plan, which was signed in September 2015. At the same time, Congress directed the BLM to provide a report by December 2019 regarding the oil and gas development potential for the Bridge Coulee WSA (5,900 acres) and the Musselshell Breaks WSA (8,650 acres). I've attached excerpts from the relevant documents for your reference. I hope this helps answer you question. After our conversation I started to wonder if there have been WSA's in the past that the BLM has identified to be removed from WSA status and there was no action. I would appreciate it if you would send me the information if that is the case for any WSA's. I look forward to visiting again on August 30th.
