Cole Enclosed is a copy of the Objections and Comments of the Lead Industries Association, Inc. in Connection with OSHA's Supplemental Rulemaking Hear ing on Lead. As you may recall, in its decision on August 15, 1980, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia remanded the OSHA Lead Standard back to OSHA for a period of six months to collect additional feasibility in formation for a number of industries. OSHA requested that information on these industries be submitted by October 27, 1980 and they set the dates of November 5,6,7, 1980 for a public hearing in Washington, D.C. The enclosed Objections and Comments were submitted to OSHA and are part of the hearing record. LIA is planning to participate in the public hear ings . Cole On January 7, 1981, the Lead Industries Association petitioned the Supreme Court of the United States with a request that they review the decision of the Court of Appeals on the Occupational Health Standard for Lead. Enclosed is a copy of the Petition for a Writ of Certiorari which was prepared by our legal counsel, who also served as liaison counsel for the industry petitioners and intervenors in this case.
