JUNE, 1987 SWRf/Asbestos 6505 1H 041865 INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS 1- Proposals are being invited from Contractors to strip and remove from Refinery, insulation containing asbestos from exchangers and piping previously removed from the BTX Unit. Insulation is calcium silicate with asbestos fibers. 2. Contractor shall submit a lump sum bid to accomplish this work on a turnkey basis. 3. Only workers certified in Asbestos Abatement work shall perform the work. 4. Contractor shall provide all permits, fees and licenses as required. 5. Contractor shall insure that work meets all Federal, State and local codes. 6. Contractor shall submit for Southwestern's approval a list of material and equipment to be used. Material and equipment procurral and work shall not begin without Southwestern's prior approval of said list. 7. Contractor shall submit for Southwestern's approval procedures that will be employed to comply with asbestos encapsulation, removal, and disposal. 8. Contractor shall submit for Southwestern's approval the name and address of the waste disposal site where asbestos waste will be deposited. 9. Approval by Southwestern of Contractor's material, equipment, or procedures will not relieve Contractor of his responsibility to comply with all Federal, State, and local codes and regulations.
