United States Public Health Service 2. Pittsburgh Plate Glass & Pittsburgh Corning 3 Manville . 4. Corning - approval will be given in August U. S. Rubber and CertainTeed have not as yet signed the proposal PROPOSAL TO OCF FROM IHF The proposal dated June 6 1966 from IHF to OCF was discussed This study relates to the biological effects of the inhalation of fibrous glass After extensive discussion the Committee voted 3-1 that they should not consider an inhalation study at this time but to wait and evaluate the initial results of the independent intratracheal injection study CLINICAL STUDIES AVAILABLE TO NIMA All the companies present reported that no studies of any value were available with one exception C had a study of 1400 employees and , would make available only certain data Following discussion a motion was made seconded and passed That an NIMA sponsored program be conducted by the Industrial Hygiene Foundation to evaluate the health hazards of fibrous glass on human beings IHF is to be contacted to structure such a program prospective and retrospective and submit it to the Health & Safety Committee of NIMA for consideration 3 C indicated they would be willing to make available to THF their medical history study for use with the program After such a proposal is approved by the Committee it will be submitted to the Board of Directors for their consideration IDCNA - HEALTH AND SAFETY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM The Committee felt such a program was valuable for IDCNA the contents of the presentation was not clearly understood by mittee members The Chairman appointed H.
