I gather from your note that the illness of the person to whom you refer has developed over a period of years, and do not hesitate to advise you that we have no know ledge of gasoline having ever produced an illness of that type* The serious results referred to in the folder are those of acute gasoline poisoning which may come about from swallowing gasoline or breathing high concentrations of vapor. This will result in dizziness, collapse, unconsciousness, convulsions^ and death, all of which will take place within a few minutes or hours. Accordingly, it is very unlikely, if possible at all, that gasoline would contribute to an illness of fifteen years duration. However, we will be very happy to assist this patients physician after we have had more information on the nature of the illness.
