In answer to your recent request for more information concerning spray wool, we are summarizing briefly the materials used and probable mixing procedures.
BEH *s spray, wool will be formulated approximately as follows:

It is possible that in addition to the above ingredients', two or three percent of Portland cement might also be used.

The exact mixing procedure has not been finalized, however i t . is definitely indicated it might be desirable to blow mineral wool and the asbestos together. This gives an intimate mix and makes the product have impr.oved texture after spraying. After these materials are blown together the balance of the materials would be added and mixed in.a rotating mixer similar to that used in making finishing and insulating cements. Since the expected vol ume is considerable, it is probably advisable to mix on a con tinuous basis rather than by batches.
We are experimenting using air to mix all the ingredients at the same time. It is expected that the choice between two methods of mixing will be made before the end of next after further work.

In developing equipment for mixing spray wool it is very important to keep in mind that asbestos dust would have to be prevented from flying in the air since it is very dangerous to health of any . operating personnel. Asbestos fiber and dust causes silicosis and every p r e ^ ^ ^ ^ g ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ l g e n t the material from getting
