" My dear Doctor Kehoe: In answer to your letter of December 17, I should say the following: We did have two patients here at the hospital who had definite evidence of lead poisoning. By this I mean that they had a clinical history which was consistent with it, in addition to lead line, stippling, and demon strable lead in the urine. After most careful questioning and investigation of the conditions under which they lived, the only source of lead exposure which could be obtained was the following: The patients always used gasoline Containing lead for cleansing, '.'hen asked why they used this type of gasoline, they answered us by saying that they always bought the best and most expensive gasoline they could buy. The son used it* not only for clothes, but also for his hands after he had been working about his automobile. I trust that this is the information which you desire. If there is any other information which I can supply, I shall be only too glad to do so. Vie have wondered about the advisability of publishing these two cases in that they would appear to represent unusual eases of lead poisoning resulting from the non-Industrial use of lead tetra-ethyl gasoline.
