Dear Dr. Kehoe:
I have been asked to recommend a maximumlead content for white gasoline which has been stored or transported in containers and lines previously carrying leaded gasoline. End uses of the white gasoline would be, for example, as carriers for household insecticide sprays, household cleaning solvents, other solvent usages involving human contact, such as rubber solvent, and in stoves or lamps.
Another problem is the maximumallowable concentration for lead in solvents such as hexane which would be used in recovering protein meal for human consumption frcm soybeans, peanuts, fish meal, etc. This problem is currently under consideration by UNICEF.
I would appreciate very much having your thoughts on this.
Sincerely,
LCM:mew
