DESCRIPTION Griptex block insulation is composed of flexible mineral fibers combined with other high temperature materials. De signed for use on all types of heated equipment through a full range of tem peratures to 1900 F. A high temperature block insulation of low conductivity and high strength. FEATURES Griptex finish Rugged embossed sur face gives better handling strength, less dust, stronger adhesion of ce ment finishes. Wire netting as bond for cement finishes can often be eliminated. Flexibility Springy type structure actually flexes with expansion and contraction. Chemically stable Griptex mineral fiber block is not corrosive. This is especially important when used with aluminum jacketing; asphaltic barrier between block and aluminum can be eliminated. > Water repellent Hydraulic setting cements and castable refractories may be applied directly to Griptex without premature loss of mixing water required for proper curing. lesy to fabricate Griptex can be formed into any desired shape on the job with a knife--can be pressed over bolt heads and projections without cutting. Impaling qualities Griptex is easily impaled over welded pins without pre-drilling. Excellent thermal properties Griptex manufacturing process produces a felted fiber structure which results in maximum resistance to heat pen etration. 1 STANDARD SIZES Griptex block is furnished in a larger range of standard sizes than is normally offered. DETRICK CO. / Insulation Division CEMENTS INSULATING CEMENT DESCRIPTION A mixture of high temperature mineral fibers especially processed into resilient nodules, combined with asbestos and suitable binders to form a plastic type insulation for temperatures to 1800 F. USES The addition of water, in accordance with directions, produces a ma terial suitable for trowel application. It is an ideal insulation for fiat as well as uneven surfaces such as valves and fittings. Has excel lent workability--will not slip or roll and may also be gunned in place. FEATURES oy to apply Super 711 has excellent adhesive qualities re sulting in a better job, in less time, from wet to dry. Maximum coverage The resilient nodules of mineral fiber do not collapse when mixed with water. This feature assures maxi mum coverage and low shrinkage. Veriatiie Can be applied over block, blanket or felt type in sulation. An excellent material to fill open joints and to provide a monolithic surface for whatever type of finish is specified. Combines flexibility, high temperature resistance and insulating qualities with strength, low shrinkage and smooth finish of hydraulic setting cement. For temperatures to 1200 F. USES Usually applied in one application. Designed for use over Griptex block and blankets. It is also used on valves and fittings as well at heated equipment. Ideal as an anti-sweat insulation on cold water tanks, pumps, etc. Provides a clean, smooth, durable finish and has no excessive surface cracking or shrinkage. FEATURES - Ono-coot application Utility insulates, protects and finishes in one easy application. Provides a clean, smooth, durable surface has high compressive strength and excellent thermal qualities. Sots lost Its quick-setting develops a protective finish a few hours after application without the presence of heat. Occasional wetting does no damage after hydraulic set. Saves time in applying weatherproofing, paint and other finishes. * Easy to apply Designed with the application in mind. Utility may be palmed, trowelled or gunned for easy finishing. Good wet adhesion to clean steel surfaces facilitates application to valves, fittings and heated equipment. > Hord finish Utility dries to a uniform hard finish with a light reflectant surface which, as an interior finish, needs no further treatment. Weatherproofing is required on outdoor applications. Hilite successfully combines the excellent low shrinkage, smooth finish, and wet strength properties of a one-coat insulating finish cement with the flexibility, high tem perature resistance, and thermal qualities of mineral fiber insulating cement. For temperatures to 1400 F. USES May be applied as single layer. Develops a tight bond on block, blanket insulation and insulating cement. Widely used for insulating valves, fittings, heated equipment, pumps, etc. Especially suitable for use over calcium silicate or 85% magnesia insulation products. FEATURES Ono-coot application Hilite is a hydraulic setting material de signed for single layer application and can be used as both an insulating and finishing type cement. An ideal material for use on calcium silicate, 85% magnesia or mineral fiber products. Ey to apply Hilite is readily trowelled on flat surfaces and easily palmed on valves, fittings and irregular surfaces. The one-coat application results in definite economies on the job. Sets fast Hilite develops a smooth, durable, protective finish within a few hours after application. Because of its hydraulic bond it does not require heat for setting. > Finish Hilite dries to a smooth, light reflectant surface which requires no further treatment as an interior finish. When thoroughly dry the finish may b painted if desired. Out-door applications should be weather protected. Low temperature in stallations require a vapor seal type finish.
