John, Do you have any documentation on that 400% increase which you could share? More to the point, and in keeping with discussions our editorial staff has had this year regarding Administrator Pruitt's tenure, do you have any sort of breakdown of how many FOIA requests were filed by major media outlets (e.g. NY Times, WaPo, NBC News, CNN) during
the Trump administration as compared to similar requests over the course of the Obama administration?

Jazz: Attached please find a letter sent this evening from EPA in reply to Ranking Member Cummings' letter - also attached - from Friday. This letter signed by Kevin Minoli, EPA's Principal Deputy General Counsel and Designated Ethics Official, address FOIA procedures questioned by Congressman Cummings.
Background: Congressman Cummings' letter essentially complains about a protocol he thinks is the Trump EPA's protocol but was actually set up in 2013 under the Obama EPA. The Trump EPA inherited that protocol and a backlog of FOIAs dating back to 2008 from the Obama EPA. On top of that theTrump EPA has seen a 400% increase in FOIA requests. Under the Trump Administration the national FOIA office was moved from the Office of Environmental Information to the Office of the General Counsel to provide the expertise to compliment the work of the FEAT. This move is intended to streamline the FOIA process from intake to producing responsive documents.
