Libby, MT Dear Sir: One of my clients is the widow of a man who died in April of 1982. He worked for V. R. Grace in Libby, Montana for fifteen years. The cause of his death was metastatic car cinoma. She attributed his death, at least in part, to the large amounts of asbestos that he inhaled during his fifteen years of employment at W. R. Grace. My goal is to negotiate a dignified and equitable settlement of this matter. I fully realize that a suit could take sev eral years and I also realize that many awards in this area are in the million dollar range. Perhaps we can both benefit by utilizing the current approach of the airline industry, i.e., the negotiation of early settlements rather than lengthly and more costly legal procedures. If you are interested in pursuing this matter through nego-tiation please advise as to what proofs or documents you would require. Richard J. Qomz RJG/jjg
