INCINERATOR AREA OBJECTIVES (Jan. 1992) Providing a safe and healthful environment ia an important objective of any unit, including the incinerator area. One of the ways this is accomplished is by operating with-in the parameters of the RCRA, TSCA and air permits. The burning of VCM vents 100% of the time is of prime importance while striving to burn non-VCM vents 100% is also a goal. The incinerators also must burn liquids from; VCM tar buggies, unrecoverable heavy ends and other sources with-in the plant to support production. Efforts are made to minimize the HCL to the 201 sewer which would need to be n utralized with cell liquor by keeping #3 incinerator as the primary liquid consumer. The burning of liquids in #3 incinerator also assists in the production of in spec weak acid for the rest of the plant. The production of 175# steam is another benefit of the incinerator area.
