To emphasize the importance on the timing of this program, let me synopsize quickly the major points: 1) 1981 model year decisions must be made by January 1, 1980. 2) The present released package with Abex rears does not meet the standards. 3) Our proposals on minor friction materials and/or system changes must be made, processed, shipped and tested by Delco-Moraine and Cadillac prior to January 1st. 4) These involve such things as 734-161, cleaned asbestos, synthesizing the modifier, adding graphite to the linings, wheel cylinder changes and lining grind changes. 5) Delco-Moraine will do all the dynamometer testing and Cadillac will do all the vehicle testing. 6} Our proposed shipping dates of these various changes cannot slide. Obviously, from this list, we have got a number of things which we must do and must do rapidly. We do not have the luxury of sufficient time to dilly-dally t$e program.
