Since 1974, these services have complemented Radian's broader activities in environmental science, chemistry, and applied engineer ing. Radian offers client-responsive ser vices ranging from personal sampling and analysis to integrated, multidisciplinary programs. OBJECTIVE Radian anticipates providing services in the areas of round robin testing, quality control samples, and standard solutions for Indus trial Hygienists. The services shall be designed to assist in the determination of precision and accuracy for regulatory and employer guideline compliance. DESCRIPTION Round Robin Testing. Industrial hygiene sampling media will be fortified with analyte(s) of interest in order to supplement the existing NIOSH Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) program. The operation of the program will be analogous to PAT in that samples will be distributed to participating laboratories and results statistically com pared. The program will be designed to allow the participants to select the analyte, media, and levels involved. Two parts of the program are anticipated-one industry-wide and one tailored for a number of locations within a company. Quality Control Samples. The industrial hygiene sampling media will be fortified as above, but the samplers will be used as quality control samples in the client's monitoring program. The fortified samplers may be exposed side by side with unfor tified samplers in the field to determine the accuracy of the entire monitoring method, or they may be submitted unexposed to determine the efficacy of the laboratory ex traction and analysis methods. Standard Solutions. Analytical standards of known concentration will be prepared in the appropriate solvents and sealed in glass ampoules. These may be used to check standards preparation and instru ment performance. The combination of ail three programs will aid in ensuring complete verification and valida tion of industrial hygiene monitoring methods.
