Now as we prepare to begin the week ahead, I wanted to get in touch by email. First, I want to introduce you to the Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS) at the Department of Labor. https://www.dol.gov/vets/ and http://veterans.gov/. VA referred your request to us since DOL is responsible for veteran employment. We work with States and local homeless services providers to fund job training and placement activities that could provide access for veteran candidates interested in training and jobs provided by DOI/NFWF. We have some initial thoughts, and also a lot of questions about how this might work and next steps to determine feasibility. My senior managers will be in a leadership conference beginning Tuesday, so I would like to try and have an initial conversation with you and some of your staff.
