TCEQ recently initiated the process of making changes to the Effects Screening Levels ("ESLs") it uses in making permitting decisions. This Thursday, July 12, 2007, TCEQ is hosting a Public Information Session in Austin concerning its proposed Development Support Documents ("DSDs") containing revised ESLs for the first round of constituents, which includes benzene. TCEQ is taking comments on the proposed changes to these ESLs until August 17, 2007.
The text of TCEQ's reminder of the Public Information Session and instructions for submitting comments is included below. For your reference, a copy of the proposed DSD for benzene is posted on the Extranet. Please let us know if you are interested in TIP commenting on this or any of the other proposed DSDs.
