Reference manuals covering course material are provided' to each student in achieving goal objectives set by this specialized training program. A. Desired Performance - Able to better evaluate proper material handling methods by: 1. Determine if mobile cranes are properly setup. 2. Determine if mobile cranes are properly inspected v/ith emphas on critical load bearing and load controlling parts. 3. Determine "allowable wire rope loads" and determine "safe working loads" on all cranes. 4. Determine proper condition and selection of rigging gear. 5. Better crane selection procedures and job planning, reducing exposures and hazards in the work area, ^* 6. Knowledge of proper recordkeeping requirements for cranes and rigging equipment. 7. Become familiar with standards and regulations pertaining to cranes and rigging gear. Student manuals provided contain these standards. B. Under what conditions will the student be able to perform the objectives? Upon returning to work, each student, depending on his responsi bilities, will be able to empliment the training received. C. How well will students accomplish the desired performance? Learning curves will vary with each individual's aptitute, experiences, and job re-enforcements. The trained employee properly motivated at the work site is expected to exercise good judgement in evaluating material handling activities. As his familiarity with proper survey techniques increases month to month, so will his skills.
