Hi Everyone,
I'm working on an article about the Great Lakes Advisory Board. I understand Reps. Joyce and Kaptur have sent two letters to Admin Pruitt asking for confirmation that the board is not being abolished. I also understand that all members of the boards' appointments expired in March and that there has not been any posting asking for more nominations. In addition, I understand that the Board's charter expires in June.
My questions are:
Is EPA planning to renew the charter? Why have appointments to the board been allowed to lapse without any replacement? What do you say to those who say that EPA's treatment of the board, combined with the requested slashes to the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative's budget, shows that the Trump administration does not think the Great Lakes are a priority?
My deadline is 11 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday.)
Thanks,
Ariel
