I thought this was most enlightening. There is one thing I am not able to get with at the moment: my question is as follows. I think you said that Patterson had found lead contents in the sea off the Western Seaboard of the United States ten times higher than in other areas of the world and that these lead contents were rapidly increasing. Later in your talk, you pointed out that lead levels in the atmosphere in the United States over the last 50 years appear to be tilting downwards rather than upwards. Therefore, what is the explanation of the very high lead contents that Patterson is finding in the ocean adjacent to your Western Seaboard? I presume from your talk that you consider Patterson a capable Geophysicist and therefore his sampling of sea water for lead content is factual data. 1 am sorry to bother you with such a silly question but, thinking over your excellent discussion, in my slow-witted way this question comes uppermost in my mind.
