He reviewed the Panel's past efforts in opposing EPA's classification of vinylidene chloride as a carcinogen and suggested that the Panel may want to again submit comments on this issue. He noted that drafting the comments should be relatively easy because of the availability of the past comments. Bruce Dickson also mentioned a possible error in EPA's calculation for risk estimates involving a q* value from 1987. He noted that Jessie Norris from Dow had discussed this issue during oral comments to EPA-OPTS regarding vinylidene chloride toxicology data. The Panel members agreed that they should submit comments to EPA and that if there was an error in the risk assessment, it should be included in the comments. 2.0 Because the deadline is July 29, 1991, the Panel and CMA will have to be prepared to conduct an expedited review of the comments. The Panel agreed to communicate any concerns with the draft comments as soon as possible.
