A suggested procedure is being reviewed and a report will be given at the next meeting. ASTM TEST METHOD TOR STRESS CORROSION CRACKING OF AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL It was agreed to use the following statement of significance for industry use: "Thsmial Insulatioatmnd Stress Corrosion Cracking of Austenitic Stainless Steel" dated 6/1/66 was acceptable as an industry position and should be published In the NIMA Newe Dull etin at the earliest conveniencs for uss as a saleo aid. It is considsred suitable to submit to T-V112 Subcommittee of ASTM Committee C-16 as the producer's position of oignifcanr.t for any z proposed test methods. Zt was al so agreed tliat the 6 month Dana Test (not the accelerated Dana Test) mirht be submitted to T-VIII as a standard test method for inhibition chloride stress corrosion cracking of austenitic stainless steels by thermal insulation. CONSTRUCTION SPEC1FICATIONIINSTITUTE FORM ft \as agreed that the format proposed by CS1 is acceptable for its purpose but ti>at the industry has no need to actively support CSI and that the executive Committee be advised accordingly. CSA SPECIFICATION 301 - ID An attempt is to be made to delete the "fuel contributed" requirement from the specification. An attempt is to be made to delete reference to F5 00136 from the spec* ification. An attempt is to be made to increase the thickness of cellular glass in the specification on the basis of thermal performance. Inform GSA industry does not recommend the use of stlhfcL below 35F, FEDERAL SPECIFICATION ini-D-100 Comments are to be sent to the NIMA office prior to October 15. 1956.
