COMMENTS Because part of the insulation being stripped was believed to
contain asbestos, the workers in the area still are required to wear disposable dust masks and keep the insulation to be stripped well wetted. Barricades and signs must be present to warn others in the area of the potential hazard. In the future, when there is doubt about the insulation containing asbestos, either full precautions for handling asbestos will be observed or a sample of the insulation will be tested-for asbestos content prior to starting the job.
