112 Air Condit H. H. ROBERTSON COMPANY 2440 Farmers Bank Building Pittsburgh 22, Pennsylvania ROBERTSON Q-AIR FLOOR SYSTEM Robertson Q-Air Floor is cellular steel sub-floor construction that incor porates within its thickness structural, load bearing cells that are available as electrical raceways, plus larger structural cells for use in air distribution. (See cutaway illustration, at top). These special, load-bearing cells can be adapted by the air conditioning contractor to transport air from horizontal header dnets to terminal units in the room. These cells can also be ultilized for return air. to Robertson Q-Air Floor, use of the floor cells for air passages reduces the space between ceiling and floor above. Overall building height can be farther reduced (without sacrificing ceiling height) by running the secondary supply headers through the web of the horizontal beams instead of below th^m. Savings in construction cost result because of the reduced cubage of the building. Except for during peak summer cooling periods, the SEASONAL CHANGE OVER feature on Robertson's Aerator keeps the power requirements at about 65 percent of peak consumption. In addition this feature will reduce the size of the central air handling equipment required by the conventional dual duct system. Other than the change in width of occasional cells, Robertson Q-Air Floor is similar to standard Q-F)oor--a product having the experience of 27 years and more than 15^)00 installations behind it The Robertson Aerator, shown above in addition to *** normal function as a mixing box, in which air from hot and cold sides of the system is mixed in response to ihe setting of a thermostat, also makes possible the con version of the hot ride for supplemental cooling use dm ing ihe hot months of the year. This "seasonal chnge' over'' device is the heart of Robertson Aerator and no other terminal has it PSBtSItfi 113 SHELDONS ENGINEERING LIMITED, Gall, Ontario SHELDONS MANUFACTURING CORP., Bensenrille, III CENTRIFUGAL FANS: Sheldons- manufacture a complete range of rugged, reliable and versatile centrifugal fans to cover all ventilation applications. Three different wheel types avail able. TYPE A -- Alrfefl Centrifugal: Airfoil design of backward inclined blade gives lower losses and highest efficiencies for a real economy in operating costs. Write for CaL No. 352. TYPE B -- Backward IDefine Centrifugal: Flat bladed backward inclined wheel gives high efficiencies, with non-overloading horsepower characteristic and low sound levels. Spun wheel shroud end inlet provides smooth flow into wheel. Write for CaL No. 341 TYPE F -- Forward Carved Centrifugal: Forward curved blades on this wheel provide large air volumes at much lower fan speeds than Types A or 6. Mechanical noise is reduced at low fan speeds. Write for CaL No. 351. SHELDONS UTILITY FANS: Sheldons Utility Fans are used primarily on installations requiring moderate and simple venti lation such as schools, toilets, warehouses, kitchens, laundries, hospital operating rooms, laboratories, swimming pools and many other applications. In particular. Utility Fans offer useful ventilation for a special localized process and usually can be located in convenient out-of-the-way places due to their compact size and packaged arrangement With the addition of a weathertiood Sheldons Utility Fans are ideally suited for outdoor installation Available with either a Type F forward curve wheel or with a Type B backwardly inclined wheel. Write for CaL No.-361. TYPE C BLOWERS: Sheldons Type C Pressure Blowers provide- high pressure, low volume, air required by many industrial applications. Multistage fan arrangements cover a wide range of capacities and pressures. Write for CaL Na 905, and No. 95L TYPE PH BLOWERS: Sheldons Type PH Pressure Blowers cover a wider pressure range than the Type C Blower and with larger air volumes. Used extensively for supplying combustion air to-furnaces, cupolas, and wet scrubber systems. Write for CaL No. 951 and No. 950A. - INDUSTRIAL FANS: For handling air and gases and for conveying-materials, Sheldons industrial fan is available in 4 different wheel types. Write for CaL Na 420. XB Wheel --Fully shrouded wheel for highest efficiencies. Handles air or-gases or air containing fine dusts. XS Wheel -- Designed to handle granular-material which can be passed through the fan. Shrouded wheel for efficiency. XC Wheel -- Similar to XS above, but is fabricated without a shroud. Used mainly for conveying long shavings, rags, etc. XO Wheel -- Radial bladed wheel with cast steel spider hub for heavy duty service such as conveying knots, paper trim, silage and other bulky material . > VANEAXIAL FANS: Sheldons Vaneaxial Fans are designed for slightly higher static pressures than obtainable with the Tubeaxial Fans. Guide vanes inside the cylindrical outer casing feed air flow onto the wheels without shock. Evasb sections, on outlet provide some recovery of static pressure. Sheldons Vane axial Fans are used extensively, for mine ventilation. Write for Cat. No. 675. TUBEAXIAL FANS: On both commercial and industrial applications, Sheldons Tubeaxial Fans provide the most eco nomical method of moving air against tow ormedium pressures.Tubeaxial Fans are ideal for installation into a duct system in a neaL compact and space saving arrangemenL Write for CaL No. 676. ;] .
