This test appears to be 100% accurate in determining the absence of asbestos, but there are false positives possible. My recommendation to you is to discuss this need with your laboratory manager and ask to have a few of the chemists assigned to learn this test. Work with these people by bringing in samples until they are familiar with it (and be sure to slip in some samples that you know contain asbestos). This would be a good time to develop procedures with your maintenance people for routinely having this test performed for upcoming work, so that proper protection can be worn.
