It is a question of the third strand of the issue management, security. We have used HLS (Shell Canada were that last) and we have also used them in the US. The activists are pretty quiet at present, probably reflecting key activists being in prison in UK/US. However, we are still (and this is not theoretical) in the focus of SHAC. The call is for me to advise and I would prefer to have clean statement that we currently have no work at HLS UK. The fact that this work does not require animals will get lost as the SHAC campaign is against customers and suppliers (i.e. their income stream). If the consortium decides to go ahead, we are unlikely to stop it (we should not be pressured by activists) and the first question I can expect is whether there was any other institute that can/could have been used.
